Our story

A place to slow
down and look up

Mountain View Camp Ground sits on the quiet shores of Ray Lake, where the Wind River Range rises just beyond the tree line. We're not a resort — we're a working campground that's been open to hikers, anglers, and families who'd rather trade hotel walls for starlight.

The sites are scattered along a ribbon of aspen and pine, each with its own view toward the peaks. There's no TV, no Wi-Fi, and no rush. What there is: cold mountain water, warm campfires, and the kind of silence that makes you remember what a real night sounds like.

A stone fire ring near the water's edge — the gathering point after sunset. Bring your own firewood or pick some up in town.

Restrooms & Cold Water

Flush toilets, cold-running water, and a pump station. It's rustic by design — comfortable enough for a real night's sleep.

The trailhead
is your backyard

From our door, you're steps from the Continental Divide Trail and minutes from some of Wyoming's most rewarding backcountry. Fly-in fishing on the Little Wind, alpine lakes above the treeline, and bighorn sheep on the ridges — all within a short drive.

In summer, Ray Lake holds trout. In fall, the aspens turn gold and the elk move through. Winter brings silence and snow trails. Spring melts into wildflower meadows. However you arrive, the mountains don't rush — and neither should you.
